About Chiguru Farm

Chiguru Farm is a 15‑acre self‑sustaining, cow‑based natural farm practicing permaculture and agro‑forestry. Operational since 2016, it is Karnataka’s first agri‑tourism centre and a pioneer in educational farm visits.

Sample 14‑Day CAS Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Welcome

➲Arrival in Bangalore. Transport to Chiguru Farm in a Private Coach

➲Traditional Welcome, Farm-fresh Lunch and/or Dinner served on Banana Leaf

➲Relax in the rooms

 
Day 2: Activity

➲Guided farm tour with fruit picking, tree climbing, animal feeding, etc

➲Learn about Organic/Natural Farming and understand its importance

➲Play rural games of this part of the world

➲Camp fire with BBQ followed by dinner

 
Day 3: Activity

➲Full day of Hands-on farm work – tree planting, making vegetable beds and sowing seeds, harvesting, preparing organic concoctions etc (depending on the season)

 
Day 4: Community Service

➲Village Tour, interaction with the villagers, understand the village economy

➲Visit the local school and interact with the children. Some teaching sessions for the school children

➲Rangoli Workshop in the village

➲Discussion with the village elders regarding waste management and/or water conservation

➲Lunch in the house of one of the villagers

 

Day 5: Local Immersion

➲Visit the weekly farmers market (on Fridays)

➲Visit to a minor irrigation dam and understand the rural sustainability

➲Learn local indoor games around the camp fire in the evening

 

Day 6: Community Service

➲Visit the Reserved Forest around. Visit to the waterfall. Opportunity to take bath in the waterfall.

➲Plogging/Cleaning activity. Educate the tourists about the importance of cleanliness.

 

Day 7: Weekly off 

➲Foraging and Cooking

➲Discussion on wildlife & human-animal conflict

➲Relax & Unwind

 
Day 8:Creativity & Activity

➲Farm Challenge –hands-on activity on solving a problem in the farm

➲Pottery Workshop

 
Day 9: Sight Seeing

➲Travel to Bangalore by Private Coach

➲Bangalore Sight Seeing by Private Coach – with Guide

➲Meals in a heritage restaurant

➲Overnight Stay in a local Hotel

 
Day 10: Community & Creativity

➲Visit a weave house near Bangalore where hand and powerlooms churn out beautiful fabric from yarn.

➲Lunch with the weavers

➲Weaving activity continues

Day 11: Community & Creativity

➲Full Day learning – Block Printing

➲Hands on activity with block printing

Day 12: Activity

➲Changemakers : Learn  about the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the tools and frameworks to plan, organize and engage in a long-term collaborative team CAS Project.

➲Visit a local house for traditional lunch and interactions with the locals for cross-cultural reflections

 
Day 13: Activity

➲Reflections on the activities during the entire stay

➲Watch a (local language) Kannada movie in a multiplex

➲Overnight stay in a Hotel

 
Day 14: Departure

➲Transfer to Bangalore Airport by Private Coach
